Along the mighty Brahmaputra River and framed by the Nilachal Hills, Guwahati is the soul of Assam, blending ancient traditions with modern vibrance. The city’s essence lies in its contrasts, old temples and bustling markets on one side, sleek towers and tea auctions on the other.
After breakfast check out from your hotel and drive to Sholling. A scenic 2.5-hour drive takes you through the rolling Khasi Hills, where misty valleys and emerald-green landscapes unfold at every turn. Once a favoured retreat of British officers, the city still exudes an old-world charm with its colonial-era bungalows, pine-fringed avenues, and mist-laden landscapes.
On arrival, check-in at your hotel. In the evening will be free to take a walk on the Mall road and Police Bazaar. Explore Shillong for the next couple of days. Visit the Cascading waterfalls, and interesting museums, and take an excursion to Cherapunjee and Dawki River.
